Specialist in shims for motorsports

ShockShim has been producing shims for the market leaders in motocross, rally, circuit- and road racing for over 35 years. In 1986 we started producing shims for WP-Suspension. We quickly gained a reputation for being able to produce shims quickly and to a very high quality. We now supply our shims to more than 40 different shock absorber manufacturers worldwide. Our range has been expanded to more than 600 types of shims that you can easily order online.

Take your shock absorber to the next level

Improve your shock absorbers by switching to shims (shock absorber plates) from ShockShim. In producing the shims, we apply extremely small tolerances to the inner and outer diameter and thickness of the shim.

Stainless steel strip material with very high accuracy in terms of flatness and thickness is used. This results in optimal oil flow (exactly where you want) and a more controllable damping curve. This ultimately ensures a more comfortable ride, better handling and greater safety.

How does a shim work?

[Spring band steel Only the (very) best for our shims]

Spring band steel
Only the (very) best for our shims

We use the very best strip steel available for the production of high-quality shims. The strip steel is hardened and tempered for when environmental and fatigue conditions become extreme.

The precision band steel is a martensite chromium steel alloyed with molybdenum, which has better corrosion resistance and higher fatigue strength than conventional ASTM 420 type steel.

Shims from ShockShim are characterized by close dimensional tolerances that allow controlled and precize adjustment of the oil flow and damping curve. This improved ability to fine-tune the damper is one of the most important factors regarding safety and comfort.

[High-quality production]

High-quality production

We produce the shims at Doeko. The shims are stamped with high precision on two 40-ton presses, using punches that meet strict tolerances. The stamps are made in-house and are continuously checked and maintained, so that they can always operate in the micron range. The shims are deburred using ceramic stones to create a smooth surface. This process also increases compressive strength and therefore improves the fatigue properties of the shims, resulting in high-quality products.

All this to give you the (very) best result!

[Quality]

Quality

To ensure the very best quality, intermediate and final checks take place in our fully equipped and climate conditioned measuring department.

Our measurement experts verify the dimensions of the Shims using digital measuring instruments and optical methods, all within the micron range.

Packaging

The shims are dried and packed in labeled plastic bags and then delivered in labeled cardboard boxes. Corrosion prevention is not necessary because we use stainless steel.

For full traceability, the label on the plastic bag contains our internal item number, production order, date, quantity and name.

The box label is marked with the customer's item number, quantity and designation.

We use UPS as a carrier for reliable worldwide shipping.
